Why do H7 HID Conversion Kits Require an Adapter to Complete Installation?

*OPT7 H7 HID CONVERSION KITS DO NOT INCLUDE H7 HID BULB ADAPTERS
*Common vehicles that require an H7 HID bulb adapter include: BMW, MERCEDES-BENZ, AUDI, VOLVO, VOLKSWAGEN AND MOST OTHER EUROPEAN VEHICLE MAKES THAT UTILIZE THE H7 BULB TYPE FOR THE LOW BEAMS OR HIGH BEAMS

The H7 bulb type is unique in that it does not  "Twist and Lock" via the base pins like most bulb types do. An example is below of a 9005 bulb installed, as you can see it has size specific cut outs for the bulb pins to pass through then twist and lock.

The H7 bulb is different in the fact that bulb base is flat and the bulb assembly itself is held and secured in place by a bulb adapter (See images below). The adapter is then what connects, snaps and secures itself to the actual headlight assembly.

The common issue that accompanies H7 HID conversion is that the OEM adapter is not always compatible with HID versions of the H7 bulb type. An additional problem, is there are many different types of H7 adapters in general, usually an adapter type is specific to a specific make or generation (usually every 4 years) of a vehicle make and model (see examples below).

Enter after market H7 HID bulb adapters. In a simple sense these are H7 bulb adapters manufactured for a specific year, make and model of vehicle that uses the H7 bulb type for the low beams or high beams that require an adapter to complete an HID conversion.

H7 HID bulb adapters can be purchased separately on the internet for relatively cheap. Common search terms include the "Year" "Make"and "Model "followed by "H7 HID Bulb Adapter"
