Fluxbeam Output vs HID? (Comparison)

OPT7 Helpful Hints Logo
Hello Fellow OPT7-ites,

The simple answer is it depends, OPT7 Fluxbeam LED Conversion Kits offer about 3,500 lumens per LED bulb for a total of 7,000 lumens of output. Compared to halogen, the OPT7 Fluxbeam LED Conversion Kit is at least 2 x as bright. This of course depends on how many watts your halogen bulb is rated to, as higher end luxury vehicles tend to have higher output halogen systems compared to economy/compact vehicles.

The general 25w-35w DC Analog HID Conversion Kit output range is between 2,800 to 3,200 lumens per HID bulb; compared to the OPT7 Fluxbeam LED Conversion Kit the Fluxbeam kit is the winner. However, when compared to mid or high end 55w AC Digital HID Conversion Kits the winner becomes less clear and it depends on the quality/headlight performance variables etc...However, the OPT7 Fluxbeam LED Conversion Kit does have higher output in terms of lumens when compared to some HID Conversion Kits.

So why go with the OPT7 Fluxbeam LED Conversion Kit?

  • No Warm-Up time which is common with HID Conversion Kits
  • Wider operating range (8v-32v) when compared to most HID Conversion Kits (9v-16v)
    • DRL compatible unlike many HID Kits
    • Not prone to voltage drop
    • Instant on/off
