No need to use 50W 8 Ohm resistors in 2012 Ford Focus for LED's to work

I have successfully installed my Opt7 Fluxbeam LED headlights and eliminated the "Dipped beam bulb fault" and shutdown of the lights in my 2012 Focus. I simply used a 25W 100 Ohm resistor connected between the Positive and Negative leads going to the LED driver, this circuit adds .12 Amps and less than 2 watts tricking the BCM into thinking a standard bulb is in the circuit. The 8 Ohm resistors that Opt7 supplied draw 1.5 Amps and 18 Watts a lot of wasted power dissipated as heat.
Please reference the attached simple drawing of my circuit.

Hello Robert,

Thank you for providing us with the update. I sent a warranty support request Claim # EQO-YEYXM-282 in for two replacement bulb H7 adaptor rings it appears that the ones that came with my kit have very shallow plastic tabs and the bulbs are not seating solidly in them. Have these shipped out yet?

Thanks,Bob

I was hoping for less in-connivance and less cost on your part as well. I can see that the plastic on the rings is worn from several insertions of the bulbs during installation they are not very durable since aluminum is harder than the plastic and the "O" rings that you have included require much compression to insert the bulbs this also tends to want to pull the bulb out as well. A smaller dimension and softer "O" ring would have been a better option as well.
If it is absolutely the only way I can get these small parts it will have to wait until I return from my road trip to remove them and send them back leaving me with a bit less driving safety not having them as well.
Can you please reconsider just sending the rings? I believe that this is a Win/Win situation for both of us both in being convent and less costly.

Thanks, Bob

OK I requested a refund and re-purchased a new set for $79.99. Please remember my original order had a $40 refund associated with it so when you refund my return it needs to be for the full $79.99 not minus the $40 discount originally refunded.
New Amazon Order# 113-3715951-7170629

Thanks, Bob

HI I just installed the replacement LED H7 headlights I noticed that the ones you sent me are different they are Version 2.0 The ones I am returning are version 1.1 sent them out to you today UPS tracking 1Z30033A9099663043.
The LED drivers for the version 2.0 are larger but I was able to fit it all in my headlight housing since some of the V2 connectors were actually smaller.
I tried the V2 lights without the resistor and they would not light, got the dipped beam bulb fault. I placed my custom resistor in the circuit and the lights functioned.
Why can you not add this small resistor in the LED driver package? It would make things much simpler I would be willing to beta test it for you in my car if you wish just let me know. The drawing I attached at the beginning of this thread works I simply made it with soldierless connectors that interface with your existing assembly no re-wiring required.

Bob

You even confirmed that you would Refund me $79.99 in your comment You only refunded me $39.99 because you based it on my original discounted order not this replacement order, You still owe me $40. I Emailed through Amazon and I E-Mailed Nancy about this as well. Please refund my additional $40 I am due.

Bob

I just received an E-mail copied below which states I will be refunded the correct amount of $40.

"Hello Bob,

Thank you for choosing OPT7 as your premier lighting solution!

The loyalty discount is a flat 50% off the purchase price so the proper amount of the credit should be $39.99. This means the $40 credit was rounded up which was an oversight on our end. Regardless, the $40 credit has been issued, thank you!

Thankfully,
Steven O
OPT7 Customer Experience Manager"
